What are the Best Methods to Utilize Promotional Products?

When you are in a business, the best way to keep your name out in the open is by giving out different promotional products right in front of potential and past customers. Many companies, despite varying products and services they offer, always give out promotional products. And these promotional products come with the name of the company, making the receiver aware of where it came from. This happens a lot during trade shows or even big local events.

Promotional products are still widely used these days despite how it has changed over the years. Businesses get more competitive just to make their name known. There are a lot of things you can use as promotional products, but you need to understand how to do it right.

What can you give away?

There are no limits to which items you need to use for promotional products. Some of the most common items and have successfully brought out the business’ name include the following:

  • Food
  • Water bottles
  • Calendars
  • Reusable shopping bags
  • Apparel such as outerwear, jackets, hats, t-shirts, etc.
  • Pens and many other writing instruments

Is it really necessary to put the logo on every promotional item you give away? It seems like the normal thing to do since that is what it means to advertise your company, right? However, it is not necessary.

There are times when personalizing the item itself for a particular client or group of people makes a lot more sense. Putting the name of the customer on the water bottle, ballpoint pen, or even the reusable shopping bag will not only tell where the owner got it, but ensures they are also going to use it.

But, there’s no harm if you are going to put in your logo, but better make sure that their name is more prominent.

More Caution on Clothing

The caution you take on putting logos on promotional products also extends for hats, t-shirts and many more. It is true that you love your brand, logo and company. This is not applicable for timeless brands like Nike, as there is a high chance that your customers will not love wearing a ball cap that has your company’s logo on it.

However, there are certain ways on which you can make it more creative, such as putting on a very catchy slogan. You can find inspiration for this from prominent companies on how they did it.

Environmental Targeting

This is not about being go-green campaign. Environmental tagging refers to giving items that are going too used in the environment wherein the decisions involve the service or product that you are going to make. For example, if you are operating an online business, you’d give out flash drives or mouse pads – these are items that are going to be used when those making decisions right at their computers are thinking about when placing an order.

Go for long shelf life

Try to choose items that will be around for a very long time. This means that instead of going for imprinted sticky notes go for a holder instead as this can be used over and over again.
